Thanks! Lovely Rhodes sound.

Sooooo wish I could play...this visual though made feel like I could for an instance in my mind. 💛
It could be both, but sounds more deep house.
Agree!
How could that Ab minor 6th chord be an Ab minor 6 chord if the 6th note isn’t even in it?? It looks like it has a b7 note in it.
F is the 6th (major 6th) of the Abm chord (Ab,Cb,Eb F). Gb is the b7 of the Abm7 chord. (Ab,Cb,Eb,Gb) I think someone desperately needs some good music theory lessons...
@@MusicianParadise No the Gb note is the 6th note of the Ab minor scale. The F isn’t even in the Ab minor scale. So that chord can’t be an Ab minor 6th chord. Gb is the b7 of the Ab MAJOR scale. But we’re not talking about the major scale right now.
@@klevens5496 Oh man, you have made so much confusion for yourself. 1. Why are you referring to the Ab minor scale? This chord progression is in Eb major. The Ab minor scale has no business here. 2. The Gb note is not the 6th note of the Ab minor scale. It's the b7 of an Ab minor scale (or any scale or mode that has a bVII in it). Also, the Ab natural minor scale doesn't have a 6th degree; it has a bVI (b6th) degree. Also In music theory land, we usually use Roman numerals when writing about scale degrees, so the correct way to write it down would be vi or bVI, depending on the scale. (Capital Roman numerals mean chords have a major third, and lowercase Roman numerals indicate chords with minor thirds.) Arabic numerals are usually reserved for intervals-b6 = the interval of a minor sixth from the root of the chord. The way you're writing your questions confuses those who studied music theory formally, as it's unclear whether you're talking about scale degrees or chord tones and intervals. 3. Most of the chord progressions I play on my channel do not belong to a single scale. Although this chord progression is in Eb major, Abm6 is a borrowed chord from the parallel key of Eb natural minor, and the mode associated with this chord is Ab dorian. This is where the major sixth interval comes from. Also, the Eb7 chord does not belong to the Eb major scale - it is a secondary dominant. As I said before, someone desperately needs high-quality music theory lessons.
@@MusicianParadise Honestly you’re confusing me because how can you put a chord inside of a chord progression and then say that the chord isn’t within the major or minor scale of its root note?? And even if the chord is in the Eb major scale, whatever chord you put in the chord progression that is within the Eb major scale, will consist of its own chord scale. But ok brodie.
@@klevens5496 1. Chords can be built from any scale or mode, not just from major or minor scales. CMaj7 can be built from the C major scale or C Lydian mode. Cm7 can be built from the natural minor scale, C Dorian mode, or C Phrygian mode. So, if you see a Cm7 chord, it doesn't automatically mean it belongs to the C minor scale. Such an assumption can lead to confusion. 2. All of the 7th diatonic seventh chords are derived from the same diatonic scale - IMaj7, iim7, iiim7, IVMaj7, V7, vim7, viim7b5. However, when dealing with extended chords, they often break out of the key and respective diatonic scale. For example, IMaj7 can become IMaj7#11, which no longer belongs to the diatonic major key but to the Lydian mode, build from the first degree of the chord. Additionally, in any given key there might be such chords as secondary dominants, tritone subs, altered dominant chords, borrowed chords, etc. All these harmonic resources reside outside of the key or our diatonic scale and serve to make the musical storytelling more adventurous. Note that these non-diatonic chords might be related to a whole spectrum of scales and modes beyond major or minor scales. These include the altered scale (aka superlocrian mode), whole tone scale, diminished scale, melodic and harmonic minors, and the 7 Greek modes such as Dorian, Phrygian, Mixolydian, etc. All these scales and modes are used to build a wide variety of extended chords, so don't make the mistake of trying to relate every chord to major and minor diatonic scales. Oh man, you really need well structured music theory lessons, or you'll be confused forever. You appear to have a strong appreciation for music with sophisticated harmonies. However, your understanding of music theory doesn't quite match the complexity of the music you enjoy. This gap between what you like to hear and what you know about music theory leads to confusion when you try to analyze the chord progressions based on your current knowledge.
I'm a drummer and even I want to learn these! ❤

Great song inspired by Brazilian genius Djavan
Are you thinking about "Samurai"? I was very lucky to learn about Djavan in my formative years, so I know his music quite well. I'm a big fan of Brazilian music.

Cool chords. But the timing is a little jarring. I'd like to hear different patterns on the off-beat. Maybe that's why I could never get into Jamiroquai.
The loop is wrong; it's not looping correctly. Sorry about that.
Thanks!!
